2 Digital Development Officers (ICT Service)

Full-time (37 hours per week), Fixed Term (18 months), Flexi-time Scheme
Salary scale G £23,111 to £25,463 per annum

As part of a newly formed team, the Digital Development Officers will be multi-skilled officers able to work flexibly across the service to meet demand and service priorities. They will be capable of configuring, implementing and supporting business areas during the roll-out of new technology solutions, as directed by the Digital Development Lead.

We are currently transforming the way people work and the way customers interact with us, by the introduction of new technology and redesigned business processes. If you want to be part developing and improving the way services are delivered to the public, then this is the job for you.

The successful candidate will be experienced in supporting, implementing and developing a range of Microsoft technologies and will have experience of reviewing and improving business processes. The successful candidate will have good knowledge of general ICT professional service practice and support service practice and dealing with internal customers. They must have a high degree of ICT Literacy, with a determination and ability to apply ICT solutions to the improvement of business processes.

Hostel Support Officer

Part-time (18.5 hours), Fixed term (until 31 December 2019)
Salary scale F £19,446 to £22,401 per annum (pro rata)

We are looking to recruit a Hostel Support Officer working 18.5 hours per week on a rota basis to provide high quality support and service to the individuals and families at Town View Fields Hostel in Kendal.

The duties will include:

  • Controlling and Monitoring access to the Hostel
  • Ensure new residents are conversant with the license conditions and aware of procedures
  • Assist in developing, implementing and regularly reviewing support plans for service users
  • Enable service users to achieve independence in all areas of their life and to be able to move on to permanent housing
  • Keeping computer and written records and participate in the wide range of administrative tasks necessary for the smooth running of the Hostel
  • Liaising with statutory and voluntary agencies as appropriate
  • Ensure that all accommodation (communal and individual rooms) is regularly checked to ensure acceptable levels of cleanliness

The working hours will be on a rota basis and will include day, evening, weekend, bank holiday working and sleeping-in duties overnight.

The selected candidate will need to maintain confidentiality about service users, staff and the Authority, promote equality of opportunity and a respect for diversity and will be required to consent to an enhanced with lists Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Senior Housing Standards Officer

Full-time (37 hours per week), Fixed term (12 months), Flexi time scheme
Salary scale H £26,470 to £29,055 per annum

This is an important post within the Council’s Housing Strategy and Delivery team based at South Lakeland House in Kendal. The post-holder will be responsible for investigating complaints primarily in the private sector, relating to housing standards and ensuring statutory duties are complied with using the Council’s enforcement powers. Other duties will include implementing the Council’s Disabled Facilities Grants policy.

Knowledge and previous experience of the above is essential, this includes use of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System, PACE, evidence gathering and service of Legal Notices. The successful candidate will have the opportunity for home-working up to two days per week, to be agreed with the Principal Housing Standards Officer.
